My name is Stephen Falbo. My journey with photography started in 2016. I began exploring abandoned places with my friends in our local area. The first three places I went to were Rolling Acres Mall, Geagua Lake, and the Rubber Bowl. Exploring these old decayed buildings with my friends inspired me to pursue photography. The first step in my career was buying a camera. Once I had my own camera I would go out every weekend and actively use it. My interest in photography really elevated during my senior year of high school. It was too late in the year for me to sign up for any photography classes, but that was not a huge hurdle for me. I went to my friends and found mentors to help me out. Something I like to say is that I have a degree in YouTube. Sounds silly, but you can learn so much through the internet. With photography being an art I feel that someones work speaks for itself. After high school I was not certain what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Like any 18 year old I figured if I got a degree in finance I could support my family no worries. What I did not know at the time is that I would not be satisfied. When I finished my first year of college I decided I wanted to wake up every day and enjoy the work I do. I dropped out of college and now I'm all in with photography. I have "No Ragrets" at all!
When I am not busy being a photographer I like to play sports, go hiking, get involved at church, and travel. My absolute favorite sport is baseball; Go Tribe! Ever since I was three years old my parents have pictures of me swinging little tikes baseball bats, and chasing my older brother around the house threatening to throw a ball at him. As I grew up, I started playing Stow Youth Baseball, then it went to travel baseball, and then high school baseball. I guess you could say sports are a big part of my life. Now that I'm not in school I play old man softball with my church, co-ed team, and other leagues.
As much as I love Ohio. Some of my most memorable hikes have been out of state. I have been to Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Montana. Traveling will always be apart of my lifestyle. It keeps me sane when there is so much happening in my life.
The church I go to is called Stow Alliance Fellowship. I have been going there since a child. I remember growing up in my teen years and older people in the church would come up to me and say you have grown so much. Now that I'm getting older its my turn to say that to younger kids. As a young adult I help by leading games for the youth group.
